Queen Latifah

Dana Elaine Owens is an American singer and rapper better known under her stage name, Queen Latifah. Queen Latifah's career in music film and television has been recognized with an Golden Globe award two Screen Actors Guild Awards two Image Awards a Grammy Award Six additional Grammy nominations an Emmy Award nomination and an Academy Award nomination. Queen Latifah was the daughter of the Newark New Jersey schoolteacher and an Newark New Jersey police officer Lancelot Owens Senior, was raised and born within Newark New Jersey. Their divorce occurred at the age of Latifah was 10 years old. Latifah was raised in the Baptist church, and attended Catholic high school located in Newark New Jersey.
